ISRO journey starts in early days of 1960's when then Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru recognized the importance of space technology in country's development and enhance national security. with this vision in sight Indian National Commitee for Space Research (INCOSPAR) formed in 1962 which latter renamed as ISRO.

ARYABHATTA-1

ISRO's first significant achievement came in 1975 with the launch of India's first satellite 'ARYABHATA' which is a remarkable milestone which established India as a space faring nation. Over the year ISRO demonstrates its technical capabilities by launching various satellites into space which includes communication, remote sensing and navigation satellites and Luner and Mars mission.

one of the most notable achievements is Chandrayan Mission-1 in 2008 which result in the discovery of water on moon's surface. Another significant milestone came in 2014 when ISRO's Mars Orbiter mission (MOM), also known as Mangalyaan, successfully enter in the orbit of Mars, making India first country to achieve this feat in his maiden attempt.

MISSION MARS (MOM)

ISRO has not only focus on space exploration but also been instrumental in developing indigenous space technology. It has the remarkable achievement in launch vehicle technology includes Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV). These launch vehicle (rocket) has been responsible for the launch of various satellite both Indian and International into space.

GSLV

PSLV

Now days, ISRO continue to strive for excellence in technology, space research and applications. With its upcoming planned missions for interplanetary mission, satellite launch, lunar exploration ISRO poised to play even bigger role in global space community.
